Regulations on Micropollutants in Water

Published on by in Government

I'm working on a report about legislation and regulations on micropollutants in water (ground/ surface/ and drinking-water).

I'm aware of the regulations in e.g. Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, and Australia; but wondering if there are any specific and national policies focusing exclusively on the control and management of (organic-)micropollutants.

Ilsehttps://www.iksr.org/en/topics/pollution/micropollutants/Micropollutants are getting in the focus, as water treatment becomes more and more difficult due to a more demanding list of pollutants. There are some interesting studies, you could check eawag, IKSR.org, Riwa-Rhijn for studies on groundwater, lakes and rivers.

We have only started to understand what dire conditions our global water conditions have become. We are even killing our oceans with our garbage and pollution. Miles of coral reefs are dying that are thousands of years old. All the Nitrates we've used for years are just below our plow levels.

Unfortunately it will take years to get our governments to listen, and decades to clean-up!
