About

With strong academic and research background in environmental engineering & technology, I am actively and professionally involved in the R&D sector of water/wastewater treatment, bio-waste valorisation and baseline/strategic environmental assessment through physico-chemical analysis of water, soil, sediment samples. I have over eight years of research and advanced academic experience internationally, including Bangladesh, Denmark, UK, Germany and Ireland, in the area of environmental engineering & management.

My research activities and interests are relevant to -
 Developing reagents (hybrid and modified adsorptive media) for water treatment and filtration process
 Optimization of chemical use and selection for improving unit wastewater treatment processes for enhanced COD, nutrients and micro-pollutants removal
 Increasing resource efficiency (saving energy, circular economy) during wastewater treatment processes
 Bio-waste treatment and re-use (e.g. anaerobic co-digestion for more biogas yield, thermal/chemical application for energy and nutrients recovery&recycling)
 N/P/K recovery and recycling process from industrial waste streams
 Assessing agronomic value and associated environmental losses from bio-based fertilizer application
 Analytical assessment of water/wastewater, soil and sediment samples for a range of environmental decision process and reporting.

I am currently investigating nutrients (N/P/K) recovery and recycling process from dairy processing residues (e.g. dairy wastewater, sludge and other nutrient rich waste stream) under Dairy Processing Technology Centre (DPTC) programme in Ireland (funded by Enterprise Ireland), including experimental investigations on the valorization process of dairy residue resources for sustainable agri-environmental value. The outcome of this work will enhance circular economy and add value in the dairy processing supply chain.
