About

I am a researcher at the Dept. of Physical Geography, Stockholm University. In this research position, I mainly work on the conceptual evaluation and comparison of hydrological patterns based on global observational datasets or re-analysis and climate model outputs. I also deal with performing climate change studies, handling large volumes of hydro-climate data, provision of new hydrological and land use database, as well as contributing to other ongoing studies within the research group in the field of hydrology and water resources management/analysis. Moreover, I am collaborating with two international groups of scientists at DAMOCLES and FIRElinks European COST Actions.

Prior to joining the Stockholm University, I was collaborating with SEI-US office on developing a high-resolution gridded precipitation product over Bolivia, by using a couple of ground-based and satellite-based precipitation models. I was also a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at the University of California-Davis, which is a leadership program held by the U.S. State Department (Fullbright program). I received my Ph.D. in water resources engineering from the University of Tehran in 2015, and have also been working as a water resources engineer between 2009-2015. My major work experience during those years cover hydrometeorology, urban water supply, water distribution networks, water quality studies and field sampling, artificial recharge, and unconventional water utilization.

My main research area includes:

- Hydro-climatology in a changing climate

- Global hydrology

- Data science

- Extreme events
