Natalija Vojno, Water Policy Analyst | Network Weaver | Project Manager
About
Natalija Vojno works at the intersection of water policy and positive peace. At Our Living Waters she supports a network of watershed organizations across Canada and with Shared Path Consultation Initiative facilitates spaces for reconciliation and relationship building between First Nations and municipalities in Ontario. Her background ranges from speech writer, environmental campaigner, to business development for a stormwater start-up. Globally, she has spoken at the UN High-Level Political Forum on the role of youth in transboundary water governance and was a founding member of the Water Youth Network.
Her post-war homeland of Bosnia & Herzegovina inspired her lifelong desire for social cohesion. As a result, she co-founded a peacebuilding project in the Balkans called Naša Gora that has evolved to become Our Shared Futures.
Natalija holds a BA from the University of Toronto, an MSc in Water Resources Management from UNESCO-IHE, in the Netherlands and an MA in Public Policy from ICU, in Japan. As a Rotary Peace Fellow her research focussed on environmental peacebuilding -- braiding Indigenous and non-Indigenous worldviews through natural resources policy and participatory water governance processes.
Natalija grew up in Toronto by the banks of the Humber River on the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit.
