Utilities Portfolio Manager
City of Aspen
Margaret Medellin is a professional engineer, licensed in Colorado, with experience in both public and private enterprises. In 2005 she was selected to represent the City of Denver as a Director on the Metro Wastewater Reclamation Board. In this capacity, she served for 10 years, including two terms as the Chair of the Board. Currently, Margaret serves as the Utilities Portfolio Manager for the City of Aspen. Her role includes the management of both the City’s water and power resources. Most recently, she has been managing Aspen’s Water Future Project, which is seeking to increase the City’s water resiliency in the face of an uncertain future.
Margaret’s holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. Her graduate study of low energy methods for treating wastewater was funded by the Pantex Nuclear Disassemblement Plant. She has also earned a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.
