About

I work on the development of the Nanomembrane toilet, funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, revolves around development of a waterless toilet. It is intended to enable the local communities benefit from the improved public health. My research focuses on the design of the membrane optimum geometry which effectively increases the longevity of the system, as well as odour control by LED-based UV/TiO2 Advanced Oxidation. Investigating pathogen removal from urine-faeces mixture using Ultra-low Pressure Ultrafiltration process followed by Vacuum Membrane Distillation is another part of my research.
