 have seen wide spread success in developing new markets for globally traded commodities and financial markets. As MD of Astley & Pearce we were the first brokers to broke Interest Rate Swaps in South Africa and were instrumental in bringing South African bonds into the future, moving the market from open outcry to an electronic platform. 

More recently, I set up London Commodity Brokers where we played a pivotal role in developing the OTC physically traded coal markets in Europe, South Africa and India. 

In addition to LCB, I set up London Dry Bulk, a brokerage specializing in the iron ore market. Here we led the charge to move the industry away from an annual benchmarking system and into indexation, for both physical and derivatives. LDB was the first brokers to transact iron ore swaps on SGX, ICE, CME and LCH.

My aim has always been to bring about transparency and efficiency into those markets and I now aim to continue the trend within new areas and hope to replicate this success within the global water industry.
