About

I am highly motivated to contribute to a more livable and sustainable environment in cities where most people live. Therefore I studied environment sciences and engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH, Zurich). In my PhD research I try to analyze the hydrological ecosystem services (retention, storage and evaporative capacity) of heterogeneous urban areas in order to improve urban planning scenarios. I use multi-resolution remote sensing data to account for the heterogeneity of urban catchments and the seasonal variations of urban vegetation in order to quantify the urban water fluxes. I also have a high interest in sustainable food production and urban gardening. I gained some experience in this domain by working with the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL (Switzerland-Bolivia), Biohof Zug (Switzerland) and Vert d’Iris (Belgium).
